“Some people are so poor, all they have is money.” - Bob Marley. Robert Marley (Bob) was called ‘Tuff Gong’ for his tough attitude and tough words in songs. He started a musical journey with the group called “The Wailers”. The legendary Jamaican songwriter gained fame for his distinct vocal style and lyrics by blending reggae, ska, and rocksteady. His singles ‘Exodus’, ‘Waiting in Vain’ ‘Jamming’ and ‘One Love’ and several other albums marked history in the world of songs. Our Robbie not only produced ingenious songs, he also gave captivating performances throughout his life. The Tuff lad went on a self-imposed exile, depended heavily on herb, praised it, challenged the politics, defied the set social standards and did many things that only an intellectual genius could dare to do. “My music will go on forever. Maybe it's a fool say that, but when me know facts me can say facts. My music will go on forever.” These words would soon prove their strength when his album ‘Legend’ was released three years after his death. After greeting millions of fans with thought-provoking songs, ‘The King of Reggae’ died of cancer on 11 May 1981 at the young age of 36 years.
